Dasari Gopikrishna, 32, of Andhra Pradesh, India, lost his life in a shooting event at a grocery store as seen in a viral CCTV footage video
Dasari Gopikrishna came to the US eight months ago in quest of better opportunities for his family. He was employed at the Fordyce’s Mad Butcher grocery shop.
On Friday, the shooting took place at 11:30 a.m. When the doors suddenly opened and an unidentified shooter appeared, Dasari Gopikrishna was working at the checkout desk. Gopikrishna suffered severe injuries as a result of the assault, which was captured on camera.

In the footage, Gopikrishna is shown being shot by the attacker; he quickly lost consciousness. Subsequently, the gunman jumped over the counter and retrieved an object off the shelf.
32-year-old Indian engineer from Bapatla Gopikrishna was brought to a nearby hospital where medical care was given for his wounds. Despite receiving medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. He is survived by his son and wife, who are still in Andhra Pradesh.
The head of the Arkansas State Police, Mike Hagar, said that the suspect had exchanged gunfire with law officers, resulting in injuries to him.

Dasari Gopikrishna’s shooting suspect
Travis Eugene Posey, the 44-year-old suspected gunman, is presently facing charges of capital murder after his apprehension. He was taken to the jail and is now being held under custody.
According to a statement from the police, the suspect, two law enforcement personnel, and eleven civilians were among the fourteen individuals struck by gunfire.
D C Manjunath, the consul general of India in Houston, who was in Dallas on Sunday for a Yoga Day event, told media that the incident had nothing to do with the shooting in Arkansas that had been reported by a number of other sources earlier.
Manjunath said, “We are deeply saddened to learn about the tragic demise of Indian national Gopi Krishna Dasari in a robbery shooting incident at Pleasant Grove, Dallas, TX, and are in touch with local family members.”
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu lamented Gopikrishna’s passing and expressed sorrow over the situation. He said, “I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family and assure them that the GoAP will extend every possible support to help bring him home.”
