Actor Tamayo Perry of “Pirates of the Caribbean” passed away on Sunday after being attacked by a shark while surfing in Hawaii, according to the media reports. Perry was taken to shore after emergency personnel were called to Malaekahana Beach, but paramedics pronounced him dead.

Perry was a buccaneer in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” This movie was the fourth in the series that starred Johnny Depp as the wacky pirate Captain Jack Sparrow. Geoffrey Rush and Penelope Cruz costarred in the 2021 movie.
Perry has made appearances in the Charlie’s Angels “Full Throttle” sequel, “Blue Crush,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and other films. In the surfing film ‘The Big Bounce’ starring Owen Wilson, he also performed stunts. Perry made an appearance in a Coca-Cola commercial as well.
He was employed as an ocean safety lifeguard for the City and County of Honolulu while residing in Hawaii with his wife Emilia Perry.
Acting Chief Kurt Lager of Honolulu Ocean Safety stated that Tamayo will be remembered for his “infectious” attitude and his exceptional surfing abilities. His family and neighbourhood are particularly struggling with the immense loss.
Tamayo made his acting debut in the early 2000s in the film Blue Crush. He got committed to his wife Emilia the year prior to the release of the Kate Bosworth-starring movie. Emilia developed her own career as a professional bodyboarder while growing up in Western Australia. Eventually, she relocated to Hawaii in order to start competing in surfing. She met Tamayo there and the two fell in love. On December 31, 2001, the pair finally got married.
Following fifteen years of marriage, Tamayo and Emilia Perry made the decision to launch a joint venture in 2016. They started Oahu Surfing Experience, a company that provides professional mermaid photo sessions and surfing lessons in Hawaii. Emilia discussed on the website how her relationship with Tamayo helped her in both her personal and professional surfing endeavours.
“When I was 18 years old, I came to Hawaii for a competition and met Tamayo while bodyboarding out at Pipeline,” she wrote in her Oahu Surfing Experience bio.
Tamayo and Emilia were married for 22 years without having children. Emilia is a 43-year-old true water girl born in Western Australia on May 24, 1981 and is a professional bodyboarder.
Perry’s wife, Emilia competed as a professional bodyboarder before moving to Hawaii, where she met her husband and started surfing competitively.
“When I was 18 years old, I came to Hawaii for a competition and met Tamayo while bodyboarding out at Pipeline. A few years later, I picked up a surfboard, we got married and there was no turning back,” she wrote, adding, “the vast amounts of ocean knowledge that Tamayo has ingrained in me over the years is priceless,” she had revealed.
